Computing

Introduction

Inevitably there is bound to be some overlap between this part of my website and some of the material to be found in the web design section.

Here you will find information that is based upon three Open University courses:

  • M150 Data, Computing and Information, which I taught until 2005. This is a Level 1 computing course, which began in 2004. Recent additions include:
  • M206 Computing: An Object-oriented Approach, which I also previously taught. Notes, essays and exercises using the OO programming language Smalltalk. There is also a section on OO Software Development. The OU has provided this course to at least one overseas university. Consequently these notes should be of use to some in the global village.
  • T171 You, Your Computer and the Net, was one I studied several years ago. I have restructured and edited many of the notes and essays on the development of the PC and the Internet.
