The study of M206 requires a considerable amount of work. The course consists of:
OU students have many different approaches to study and quite often this is dictated by jobs, children, partners and other "lifestyle" considerations. Whatever modus operandi you choose, try and keep up with the timetable of study supplied by the course team. The calendar can be downloaded from the M206 website. Use this as a means of checking where you should be in the great scheme of things; it's a very useful guide. If you can keep up to date then you will find most aspects of this course more than manageable.
Students have different goals when studying. You may strive to score very high marks on all TMAs, or you may be satisfied with less. This involves making decisions on how much effort that you wish to put into your TMAs. You might like to consider applying Pareto's Principle. Working hard on all your TMAs will pay dividends as most students find this the best way to learn the course. The exam is a very different beast, but you can take heart from the fact that nearly all students, who sit the paper, pass it.
M206 is a fine course and one that I enjoyed studying and teaching. I hope that the following pages will help with your studies.
Finally, most of the material in this section is delivered in HTML, but occasionally, for reasons of laziness, or lack of time to do otherwise, I have found it necessary to provide Word and PDF formatted files. To download and save Word and PDF files, right click on the relevant hyperlink and Save Target As...(with Internet Explorer) or Save Link As ... (with Netscape). A Save As ... window will be displayed and you can select a folder (directory) to store and save the file.
